Duff & Lawson – Revised Mammal Database and Checklist

Duff & Lawson – the authors of the checklist of the mammals of the world – have just revised their checklist with 700 changes made to the first version which came out in 2004. I don’t know if there are plans to revise the book, but teh data is already available as an update for the Mammal Add-On package to the Birdbase software.

I have use this software to keep a track of my trips for the past few years and recommend it. I’m looking forward to getting the revised list, which must be pretty much the gold standard now for the list of tickable mammals, and seeing whether I can claim any new species 🙂

I prefer to keep my checklists updated in excel, but am curious to see what the update entails. Is there any any way of seeing the changes without buying the software?
