Karasu beaked whales – a possible sighting

My friend Olga Filatova (one of the co-discoverers of karasu beaked whale) has returned from an expedition searching for them around the Kuril Islands, and got some possible photos (the account is in Russian, but you can autotranslate). http://alazor.livejournal.com/77602.html

They apparently have less visible spouts than Baird’s beaked whales they’ve been split from, a somewhat useful field sign.
