The Qinling Mountains, October 2005
My first visit to China was to the Qinling mountains in the middle of the country: the place to see Giant Pandas (a detailed trip report is linked below). In one week I saw Giant Panda, Golden Snubnosed Monkey, Golden Takin, Chinese Goral, Serow, Red and White Giant Flying Squirrel, Pere David's Rock Squirrel, Swinhoe's Striped Tree Squirrel, Mole Shrews, Chinese Jumping Mice a Confucian Nivenventer and a Chevrier's Field Mouse.
