    This is frickin’ awesome! I am so there! Summer ’14!!! (fingers crossed). I was in Madidi back in the mid-’90’s and saw loads of tapir sign but no live examples. But next time….the glove has been thrown down!

    14500 is a nice number, but it’s a huge territory. Even if you don’t include Manu NP, it’s still over 100 000 sq.km, so the density is less than 1 tapir per 6 square kilometers.
