New Trip Report: West Papua (and they even saw some mammals!)

I was very happy to get this report from Steve Anyon-Smith: his first in a while and his sense of humour is as sharp as ever. He was in West Papua with Dion Hobcraft last month… and, unusually for this part of the world, they managed to see more than 2 species of mammals! 17 species in fact. This gives me hope for this region’s mammal watching potential (even more so when you think that these two were primarily looking for birds).

West Papua, 2017: Steven Anyon-Smith, 3 weeks & 17 species including Masked and Reclusive Ringtail Possums, Stein’s Cuscus and Black-tailed Melomys.
