Thailand – Sun bears, Langurs, and a wild Jon Hall (mammal watchimus maximus)

This is not my first trip but it is the first one I have ever written a report for and it has taken me quite some time to get this all typed up and put together. This was the first half of a Thailand/Borneo trip I took from late December 2024 through late January of this year (2025). All of the park tours described in this as well as the nighttime tour in Bangkok were all organized by a company called Tontan Travel and they were great (especially their guides Palm and Bank).

The Borneo report will be coming. Hope you all enjoy would love some feedback.

I’m an amateur wildlife photographer from the US. Work a contract job with frequent layoffs and usually use that off time to travel and take photos and, in the summers, will frequently work as a US National Park Ranger (lately been rangering at Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park). Love photographing pretty much all terrestrial critters but especially the furry ones. Favorites to spot are usually porcupines. Favorites to photograph are bears and cats, have a lifelong goal of traveling and photographing all eight of the world’s bears in the wild (4 down, 4 to go). http://www.corycravatta.com

    Hahaha. I haven’t read the report yet but am looking forward to. Maybe I need to add myself to the checklist. Though I am not sure under what mammal order I should be listed. Probably the sloths as of this afternoon.
