mammal watching in Italy
Hello!
My husband and I are planning a roadtrip through Italy in April next year for around 3 weeks. We are going to do mammal and bird watching most of the time. We already looked at more or less every post about Italy on this website, but still have some questions. We hope you can help us 🙂
We made a list of species we would like to try to see and if already found more information where to look for them.
– Corsician Hare: ?
– Eastern cottontail: Parco delle Vallere, Corso Trieste, 98, 10024 Moncalieri TO, Italien
– all 3 Dormouse spescies:?
– European Water Vole:?
– European Harvest Mouse:?
– Black Rat: Colosseum Rom (?)
– Wolf/Bear: We have already seen them in Finland, but we would appreciate seeing them again: Abruzzo nationalpark Gioia Vecchio viewpoint
– Apennine Chamois: also Abruzzo national park, but we struggle which hike/point would be best, because I had a lungs transplantation and have problems walking up. Walking in general and being in the mountain is no problem. But we need a spot with not so much hiking up. Any suggestions? We already read about a walk to Camosciara Waterfalls where Chamois can be seen or near the visitor center at Opi.. but maybe you know better places.
– Crested porcupine: ? (well everywhere and nowhere it seems ;D)
– Finlayson’s squirrel: Sapri beach promenade
– Calabrian black squirrel:?
– Pallas squirrel: Parco Il Boschetto
– Finlayson’s squirrel: Sapri beach promenade
– Calabrian black squirrel:?
– Pallas squirrel: Parco Il Boschetto
– Fin whale, Cuvier`s beaked whale, Risso’s dolphin, long-finned pilot whale: all Pelagos Sanctuary – any recommendation for a whale trip company?
– Stoat: ?
– Least Weasel:?
It would be great if you can help us!
Best regards Sabine Palma
