Malaysia July 2025
Hi all,
This is a report from my recent trip to Borneo from the 13th to the 20th of July 2025, as well as a few days I spent in KL beforehand. Borneo is, of course, very well visited and reported by mammalwatchers, but despite this I feel this trip report may be helpful, especially as I had the opportunity to explore a lesser known site adjacent to Tabin (Sungai Kapur VJR) and saw several seldom-seen or desirable species. This trip was largely organised by Borneo Eco Tours, with 2 nights in Sukau Rainforest Lodge on the Kinabatangan and 2 at Utan Rainforest Lodge on the edge of Tabin. I saw 39 species of mammal, including Marbled Cat, Sunda Stink Badger, Philippine Slow Loris and Bornean Orangutan.

Correction – the reddish langur that I identified as the red morph of T. cristatus has been re-identified as a maroon langur.
