Borneo guides
Hello,
We’re planning on spending a little over a week split between Deramakot, Kinabatangan River, and Danum Valley. I learned through my contact with adventure alternative that Mike Gordon may be guiding less next year as he is involved with a river lodge they are starting.
I’m hoping for recommendations on other guides of equal quality. Part of our excitement of going to Borneo was generated after reading the many excellent trip reports that involved Mike. I’ve read some other trip reports where people were less happy with their guide. We’re kind of best or nothing people and would rather not compromise on guide quality.
We’re specifically excited to see elephants and cats, but I’m also keen to see birds.

Henry Sappengi (henry.sapinggi@yahoo.com) was my guide for a 2 week trip to those places. We thought he was great.
