Winter in Argentina

Just finished an amazing two weeks in the dead of winter in El Palmar NP and Valdes Peninsula.  Fantastic places in an amazing country.  Here is my trip report for this trip.  Still working on the Paraguay portion of this expedition.

Hi Coke, great report, very useful. I’ll be visiting El Palmar in February next year. Where you in a tent (your own or hired?) Are there other accommodation options in the park? Can you night drive in the park?
    Thank you.

Thanks! Glad it’s useful. There are no accomodations inside the park. there is a resort outside that is mentioned in other reports. I did not use a tent as I generally prefer to sleep in the car, which is what I did. The campsite has bathrooms, showers with warm water and a cafe with snacks and drinks. The restaurant across the parking lot has proper meals. No spotlighting is allowed officially…I did a bit from the campsite and if you plan a slow drive back from the entrance after dark…Feb will be a more touristy season so I suspect the rangers will be out and about more than when I was there and there will be many more tourists
