Hyaena footprints

In mid-April 2025, I found these recent prints on the banks of the Oued Amtoudi in southern Morocco. I think they are striped hyena prints. Can a specialist confirm my idea ….and my ID ? Thanks . JMichel

Thanks JM. They do look like a canid .. but do you have any measurements?

The maximum width was about 45 mm. I was alerted by friends who study wolfes. For them, the left print does not correspond well to a canid.

The circled track on the left looks like a Canid to me. Hyaenids have much tighter gaps between bean-shaped toes. The median pad behind the toes woukd also be more lopsided on a Hyaenid track, making the whole thing very asymmetrical. At 4.5cm wide, even if it was a Hyaenid, that could only be the hind foot, which has a very small median pad pressed up against tightly packed toes. I’m fairly sure this is not Striped Hyaena, the tracks I’m very familiar with here in East Africa.
It doesn’t look like a typical Golden Wolf track either, though. Are there domestic dogs in the area?
