Latest Observations & previous highlights

Now following the November 2025 updated taxonomy. 2026 sightings: June - 24 lifers on my Northeast Brazil Primates and Porcupines tour including 5 endemic porcupines, Northern Maned Sloth, Brazilian Three-banded Armadillo and 7 primates including Blond Titi, Blond Capuchin, Eastern Black-handed Tamarin and Silvery Marmoset. May - Shortridge's Langur, Himalayan Takin and Chinese Mountain among 16 lifers in China. April - Long-footed Potoroo in Victoria. March - 14 new species in Guatemala (with several new species in the pipeline) including Thomas's Water Mouse and Guatemalan Vole. Previous years' highlights include Vaquita, Giant Pangolin, Giant Armadillo, Giant Panda, Pygmy Hippo, Bay Cat, Liberian Mongoose, Bactrian Camel and Western Long-beaked Echidna.
