I know this project generates a lot of mixed feelings — it’s innovative to some, and an expensive gimmick to others. I wrote a blog about the effort to breed back quagga-like zebras. Would welcome your thoughts.

It wouldn’t hurt (unless the money is being diverted from some other projects), but I don’t think there are many cases where this approach could be used. Attempts to re-create aurochs and tarpans have failed to produce exact similarity in appearance.
