Mammal Pictures Needed for Ranger Guide Book

Dear Mammal Enthusiasts,

Since about a decade I am working with Frankfurt Zoological Society in Indonesia, Sumatra. Most of my recent work focuses on ranger patrols and human-wildlife conflict issues, but we also do wildlife monitoring, including camera trapping.

Currently I am compiling a mammal identification guide for our rangers based on cam trap images from our main site in Jambi. However, in order to make this guide book useful to as many people as possible, I would love to include also several species that we have not photographed yet (most of them don’t occur at our site I guess).

It would be great if somebody of the community would like to contribute pictures. The pictures do not need to be brilliant, normal cam trap images and the like are sufficient. Following species are wanted:

Capricornis sumatraensis Sumatran Serow
Prionailurus planiceps Flat-headed cat
Mydaus javanensis Teledu, Malay Badger
Arctonyx hoevenii Sumatran hog badger
Mustela lutreolina Indonesian mountain weasel
Mustela nudipes Malay weasel
Nesolagus netscheri Sumatran striped rabbit
Dicerorhinus sumatrensis Sumatran rhinoceros

I would need also some kind of written statement that I can use the pictures for this mammal guide, and info to which person I can give credits to for each picture.

Pictures and Info could be send to sumatranmammalbook@gmail.com

Best, Alex
