S. Florida trip mammals

Just got back from South Florida where I was for the last week.  Saw lots of good birds and lizards, but unfortunately did not see many mammals.  Did see 5 or so Florida Manatees in the Flamingo Marina and a Black Rat along Research Rd. both in Everglades N.P., a Marsh Rabbit in Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, many Eastern Gray Squirrels (so tiny compared to in the northeast), and 4 Key Deer on Big Pine Key (2 males, 2 females).  It’s really unbelievable how barren the Everglades N.P. has become mammals wise.  Those pythons have really done a job.  So sad how much destruction the hurricanes have done since I was there last in ’03 too.
