Sophie and Manuel Baumgartner just finished 40 days in China. They saw a lot.
Sichuan and the Tibetan Plateau, 2019: Sophie and Manuel Baumgartner, 40 days & 61 species including Golden Cat, Snow Leopard & a non-snowy Leopard (japonensis ssp), both Pandas plus Brown and Black Bears!

Wow, what a great report with some real beauties I haven’t seen reported here before like North Chinese Leopard, Tibetan Brown Bear, Asian Golden Cat (ocelot form), etc. Also wonderful to read about new sites mammal watchers aren’t really familiar with yet.
As a side note, I think the flying squirrels at Wang Lang are probably Chinese Giant FS. Indian is a more tropical species, whereas Chinese is found in high-elevation spruce forest.
Hi there!
Thank you for your comment.
We are very curious to hearing your opinion on the squirrel.
We have some pretty decent pictures where the black dorsal fur with white tips and the orange ventral fur is visible. Can you give us an e-mail to send them to you?
Kind regards
Sophie
Oh man, what an incredible report with so many sighthings ! Glad to see that Place X remains the location for pandas where we were fortunate to see two of them in April 2019 ! Thanks for sharing all this with us
