14 Days in Sri Lanka – June 20, 2026 W/Cory Cravatta and Chinthaka De Silva

Hi Everybody

I’m putting a Sri Lankan trip together with Chinthaka De Silva with a primary goal of spotting/finding India Pangolins and hoping to find some folks interested in coming along. Currently mostly tentative but we’re looking at a two week trip beginning June 20, 2026.

Current expected Itinerary includes Kitulgala, Sigiriya, and Wilpattu.

Possible hoped for targets/sightings include: Indian Pangolin, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Elephant, Rusty Spotted Cat, Fishing Cat, Jungle Cat, Purple-Faced Leaf Monkey, Tufted Grey Langur, Toque Macaque, Sri Lankan Giant Squirrel, Sri Lankan Flameback Squirrel, Dusky-Striped Jungle Squirrel, Brown Mongoose, striped necked mongoose, Ruddy Mongoose, Indian grey mongoose, Red Slender Loris, Grey Slender Loris, White-Striped Chevrotain, Yellow Spotted Chevrotain, Sambar, Chital, Sambar, Brown Palm Civet, Golden Palm Civet, wild boar, wild water buffalo, lots of reptiles and birds, and more.

Work a contract job with frequent layoffs and usually use that off time to travel and take photos and, in the summers, will frequently work as a US National Park Ranger (lately been rangering at Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park).
