Oman Trip in November 2025
Hi all, I will be going to Salalah, Oman for a quick trip and will have two nights to spend there. Our main focus is birds but I am also interested in mammals and I noticed that it is possible to find some on the road to wadi darbat at night. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me tips on how/where to find Arabian Wolf or even Ratel or Genet at wadi darbat or along the road towards it. If possible, I would also like to know how far the animals usually are or how long do they show for. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!
PS-I do not have a thermal scope

The genets were easy to see just walking up the valley looking for eyeshine and a wolf was stealing chicken from a cage near the entrance. Reportedly, thermals are banned in Oman so you are not losing much.
