Chalo South America are running a high end 16 day trip across Brazil’s Pantanal – both the north and south – from October 15-31. You will be searching for Jaguars of course at Porto Jofre, but also looking for Giant Armadillos and Giant Anteaters around the wonderful Baia das Pedras ranch in the south.
The safari also includes time in Emas National Park, where you will look for Maned Wolves and Pampas Cats. Chalo have planned to be there at the right moment to hopefully witness the glowing bioluminescent termite mounds which are a spectacular sight and something I would love to see.
This small group trip is priced at $11.700 pp (sharing). October 15 – 31 2025
Full details are attached. Please let them know you found it through mammalwatching.com if you book!

I mean people are free to do whatever ever they want with their money if it brings them joy, but… 11 thousand dollars? That’s over half of the price of the cruise to Antarctica! I just hope that people buying trips like this are making an informed choice, because you can see most of the animals for far less money. And I am not talking about tens of percent in savings; we have spent a similar amount of time in Pantanal and Emas for 1/13th of the cost.
