Andújar Iberian Lynx hides RFI

Hello! Does anyone have any recommendations for Iberian Lynx hides in Andújar, either for general observation or photography, from recent experience? I’m struggling to find specifics on Google, just hide tours you can book through external companies. I’d like to go direct to the source if possible (and ideally book hotel accommodation on-site as some people seem to have done in recent visits). Any information is appreciated … Thanks!

There is a photo hide in a private ranch in Toledo (two hours by car from Madrid), which is very good for photography and not very expensive (180 euros for the whole day). You can contact the owner directly on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/iberhides_/

I have been in mid February 2025 and late February 2024 to Gato Clavo which Charles Foley mentioned. There is a company I have not used (but did email) that does hides down the hill from Andujar plus up in the hills near Toledo (I believe referenced above). Those (the ones I have not used) require you to sit in a small box and shoot through glass, typically staying from dawn til dusk. The one I used (Gato Clavo) has a large space with opening with no glass and a toilet if needed and a choice of morning or afternoon sessions (or both). For this reason I think it is preferable. You can also stay onsite (which I belive Charles did), or you can stay a couple blocks away at Los Pinos Hotel (which I did this year) or up a dirt road behind that at La Caracola Guest House. I did two afternoon sessions in 2024 and had three good sightings first day but none second day. I did three afternoon sessions in 2025 and had good sightings all three days, with four lynxes together on second day.

We were there in early June. we had two days at Gato Clavo hide, morning and evening sessions and had three sightings of two different lynx, one each time we were in the hide, so 75% success rate there. We had a day in a different lynx hide, San Gimes, which we saw right at the end of the afternoon session. There you shoot through glass which isn’t great when the lynx comes right up to the hide at an angle! We also used some of andalucia birdland’s hides for Bonelli’s eagle, little owl and genet.
