Cat tracks SE Turkey

Hi, I found some tracks recently near Birecik in SE Turkey. Glasses for scale, gap between stem tips is 8.75cm.

Given shape and lack of claw marks, would I be correct in assuming this is a cat, most likely Lynx?

Thanks!

Judging purely off of range and the ASM database I think it could be a jungle cat, plus it seems like there is suitable habitat in that area of Turkiye.

Definitely cat tracks! From the size I would say lynx, but its a bit hard to say with the increased size due to the mud.

Thanks very much for the responses. I must admit I wasn’t even aware that Jungle Cat occurs in Turkey, so hadn’t considered it as an option! However, I think the tracks are probably too large for that species.

On reflection, I wonder whether Caracal might be a better option given the terrain (quite open dry country with low rolling hills)?
