ECUADOR DECEMBER 2021

Sad to read that the Mashpi Mountain Coati recently passed away. I myself was also successful there with the species (and the same individual) in 2021 during my productive visit to the country for Andean Bears. A report of that previously posted on this website. We could also observe Tayra fantastically then. Both species fed on bananas near the many well-known feeders scattered across the country. We all saw the bears (8 individuals) in a natural way. Attached are some shots (push and shoot photography) of the Moutain Coati (still the 2-eared version) from the great Masphi feeders as well as some pictures of the Tayras and Spectacled Bears.
