Thanks for excellent report, hope you see clouded leopard and marbled cat next time. Looking forward to your Uganda report.

Very nice documentation! Your photo of the Hose’s Pygmy Flying Squirrel could be the first ever made of a living specimen, as even the museum specimens are rare and not very well preserved. I had the chance to look at the type specimen at The Natural History Museum in London, which was not in the best state. Do you by any chance have extra photos? Even if they are very blurry, as long as the head (and especially the cheek) is visible, it would help a lot. Based on the photo in your report, it is impossible to rule out Petaurillus emiliae. You can send pictures to daan.drukker@naturalis.nl

Thanks to Andreas for mailing me one extra picture! Based on that I think that the working hypothesis of it being a hosei is justified. I hope to do some research in the future to get some more certainty, but for now it is nice! In the meantime Ewan Davies also sent me his picture of a presumed hosei by the way, so it has at least been photographed twice in the wild now. Of emiliae I now know of 2 or 3 pictures.
