Max. 2 extra participants wanted for Uganda: African Golden Cat Tour – June 3-16, 2027 (Mountain Gorilla extension in Bwindi till June 19, 2027) 

  • This tour is initiated by Simon van der Meulen (Dutch citizen) and Karen Czekalski (US citizen). We travelled together as part of small group tours on three previous occasions (Sri Lanka, Sabah, and Madagascar). We share a passion for wildlife and mammals (in particular wild cats) and are keen wildlife photographers. 
  • Focus of the tour is on finding the African Golden Cat, hence the 8 nights at Kibali. However, we’ll see a lot of other interesting mammals, reptiles and birds. Based on our specific requirements, the tour itself is organized by Harrier Tours, the premier birdwatching and mammalwatching specialist in Uganda.
  • This is a not-for-profit tour. I.e. you pay directly to Harrier Tours.
  • Max. number of participants is 4 (Simon and Karen have already committed and the tour will go ahead regardless).
  • Guides: Sam (the top-spotter and guide) and likely also Harriet Kemigisha (owner/proprietress of Harrier Tours) herself for the Kibali leg.
  • An extension option for Mountain Gorillas at Bwindi. This extension pertains to 3 nights in Bwindi and includes 1x Gorilla permit (see further detailed itinerary in annex).
  • The tour is scheduled June 3-16 (or 19 if you opt for the extension as well) of 2027.
  • Cost of the main tour is USD 4,250 (EUR equivalent approx. 3,790) p.p. The Mountain Gorilla extension costs USD 2,850 (roughly EUR 2,540) p.p.
