    Great read Ralf!
In february 2023 I did a similar trip to yours (not in the same order) mostly for birds, but we saw some mammals and maybe some locations could be useful for others:
    – We had an African Striped Ground Squirrel (Xerus erythropus) near the Souss-Massa National Parc at 30.27932, -9.53881
    – A night drive along the Oued Massa yielded ~15 North African Hedgehogs (Atelerix algirus) and an African Wildcat (Felis lybica) at 30.08123, -9.64805
    – We had five Common Gundi’s at 31.11883, -5.77815 (same location as Ralf) and three more at 31.15935, -5.76098. Presumably a range expansion of ~200km (according to https://www.iucnredlist.org/)?
    – During a night drive near Tagadilt Track (31.36105, -5.91096) we saw some Lesser Egyptian Jerboas (Jaculus jaculus), quite grey individuals, perhaps ssp hirtipes?
