Small Rodent from Sesriem, Namibia

Thank you for your help in identifying this small rodent that I photographed on 15 October 2024, 25km SW of Sesriem, Namibia (S 24,64488- E 15,65336). Originally there were 3 individuals perched in the bush and nibbling on the seeds but they fled very quickly and I was only able to take one bad photo.
Compared to the rodents I handle regularly, they were the size of a Harvest Mouse (so smaller than a House Mouse). Thanks !

iNaturalist IDed this as Rhabdomys sp. It is not very reliable with rodents though, I think.

Rhadomys are “stripped” rodents unlike the one I observed which had no strippe at all. It could be a Black-tailed Thallomys (Thallomys nigricauda) but I haven’t enough experience of this species to confirm the identification. Thanks.
