Some notes on mammalwatching in Bhutan

In April this year I co-led a birding trip to Bhutan for Eagle-Eye Tours. Of course, I was keen to find mammals as well wherever possible as well – and there are some good ones in Bhutan! – and we saw, among others, Western Red Panda, Golden and Capped Langurs, Bhutan Giant and Hairy-footed Flying Squirrels, Sikkim Pika, and several Himalayan Brown Gorals. Dion Hobcroft’s notes on this website were invaluable in helping me know what to look for and where, but of course things have changed so hopefully this is a useful update. With a bit of luck I’ll be back next year.

cheers, Mike

Thanks for this Mike! It makes me want to return. There is a lot of potential here as you say and good to see more and more mammalwatching knowledge being added through reports like this.
