Southern elephant seal at Blairgowrie Vic Aust

A young southern elephant seal has been seen in the southern part of Port Phillip Bay near Melbourne over the last week. Earlier it spent a few days at Portarlington on the Bellarine Peninsula visiting a petrol station and smashing some windows. Over the last three days it has been on the beach at Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula. I visited it this morning and it was located next to Cameron’s Bight Jetty near the end of Hughes Road. The jetty made an ideal viewing platform.
