    The problem with this is that numbers are one thing and reality another. It’s not like classic optics, where you just describe the physical properties and know moreorless what you are getting – because a with a thermal, you are watching a digital image and a what you see depends a lot on how that image is processed. Additionally, it’s much easier to just lie about NETD than about the diameter of a lens … So while the numbers are useful for a general idea, actual in-field comparisons are the key.

      Yes I know what you mean. It’s helpful to not what the terms mean even if maybe not that helpful to know what that means in reality.
