Trip Report – Western Sahara Mammalwatching Tour – Royle Safaris – November 2024
Royle Safaris ran two mammalwatching tours in 2024 to Western Sahara (one in early 2024 – the trip report has been published already) with one in November, both were successful in seeing many of our targeted species and this is the trip report is for our November tour. This trip was a small group of Japanese clients and the trip was successful in seeing several fennec foxes, a sand cat, African wild cats, Ruppel’s fox as well as numerous Libyan striped weasels, common Saharan rodents, desert hedgehogs and other species.
This trip saw a total of 18 species of mammals as well as 41 species of birds which is very successful for this habitat.
We had another successful trip in early 2025 (trip report to come) and will be running another itinerary in autumn 2025 and one in spring 2026 which are both currently sold out. However there are dates open for other trips if people are interested in early 2026 or later in 2026. If you would like to join the trip and search for fennec foxes, sand cats, Libyan striped polecats and many other species then please get in touch (info@royle-safaris.co.uk) for more info.
