Western Mexico (March 2025)
Here’s a report of an intense 8-night small mammal survey trip I did across western Mexico last March, spanning the states of Jalisco and Colima. We recorded 51 mammal species including Northern Mouse Opossum, Ring-tailed Ground Squirrel, Wagner’s Harvest Mouse, Mexican Big-eyed Bat, Sinaloan Mastiff Bat, and Carter’s Myotis. Many of these species have never been reported on this site before, and several have very few records even within the scientific community. Thank you (as always, in Mexico) to Juan Cruzado.
Happy New Year everyone!
