Demi on the Road
I worked for many years as a zookeeper in several Dutch zoos, including Ouwehands Zoo, Apenheul, and GaiaZOO. Most of my time was spent caring for primates such as Western lowland gorillas, Bornean orangutans, bonobos, mandrills, lar gibbons, Roloway monkeys, king colobus, ring‑tailed lemurs, Barbary macaques, black‑capped squirrel monkeys, East Javan langurs, golden‑bellied capuchins, black howlers, red‑faced spider monkeys, golden lion tamarins, white‑headed marmosets, white‑lipped tamarins, black crested mangabeys, common woolly monkeys, and white‑faced sakis. I have a deep passion for nature, travel, and wildlife watching. Although I’m fascinated by all animals, mammals — especially primates — have always held a special place in my heart.
