With more than 12 books and dozens of articles to his name, David Andrew is one of Australia’s most prolific natural history writers. He has travelled to more than 30 countries to watch wildlife, as well as every corner of Australia. He worked for Lonely Planet for more than 10 years, particularly on the Watching Wildlife series; his Watching Wildlife Galápagos Islands was reviewed on Amazon.com as ‘hands down the best guide to the Galápagos’. He also started Australia’s first ornithological magazine, Wingspan and is a former Editor of Wildlife Australia magazine. Somewhere in the mix he studied Giant Pandas in China; joined the ice-breaker RV Aurora Australis to census seabirds and whales in Antarctica; and acted as a guide for birding luminaries Bill Oddie and Phoebe Snetsinger on their visits to Australia. David’s most recent books have included The Complete Guide to Finding the Mammals of Australia. He has also worked for the Australian government on CITES approvals, sustainable trade in wildlife and workshops on threatened species.
