Recently we published a sight record of enigmatic (and once considered extinct) long-tailed bandicoot rat in Iraq. Turns out our Iranian colleagues obtained a specimen just a few km away (but on their side of the border) on the same week! Their paper (I have a PDF if anybody’s interested) also has a link to BBC News Arabic report showing video of a live animal. Such a beautiful rodent!
