My Big Cat Year – China and the Wildcat species in the Tibetan Plateau
The 18-day trip on the Tibetan Plateau organized by Royle Safaris in China was a great success. Local guides were Sid Francis and ZZ for the main trip and Jay Wu for the extension. Not only did we manage to see the Snow Leopard, Pallas’s cat, Eurasian Lynx, Chinese Mountain Cat and the Mainland Leopard Cat, but also many other interesting wildlife species in stunning landscapes and great habitats. Added to that, the nice people and the great food made it an unforgettable trip. All in all, we managed to see 32 mammal species, around 118 bird species and only 1 Reptile and Amphibian!
At the moment I am at 18 Wildcat species for the year and 24 in life. So far, we have been able to contribute financially to 8 Projects and/or Organizations for a total of 12.000 USD. Many thanks to those who have contributed to make this possible! In addition, we have been able to give 12 Conservation Talks, Presentations and Interviews. It is hard work but we are getting there!
