New book on cetaceans – Nouveau livre sur les cétacés

Chers mammalwatchers,

J’ai le plaisir de vous informer de la publication, chez l’éditeur naturaliste suisse bien connu Delachaux et Niestlé, de la version française du Little book of whales, d’Annalisa Berta et Robert Young (Princeton University Press, 2024), que j’ai traduit et adapté en version francophone sous le titre de Petit livre des baleines et autres cétacés. Il s’agit d’un livre de vulgarisation scientifique, dont la version française a été mise à jour sur le plan des connaissances, de la taxinomie, etc. Le livre est adapté à un public naturaliste ayant déjà des connaissances aussi bien qu’à des néophytes souhaitant en apprendre plus sur ces animaux fascinants.

Dear mammalwatchers,

I am pleased to announce the publication—by the renowned Swiss natural history publisher Delachaux et Niestlé—of the French edition of The Little Book of Whales by Annalisa Berta and Robert Young (Princeton University Press, 2024). I translated and adapted the work for the French-speaking market under the title Le Petit livre des baleines et autres cétacés. This is a scientifically rigorous popular science book; the French edition has been updated to reflect the latest knowledge, taxonomy, and more. It is suitable for both naturalists with prior knowledge and newcomers wishing to learn more about these fascinating animals.
