Advertising: Two spots left for our May Primates &Porcupines trip to NE Brazil
Seasons greetings everyone!
There are two spots still open on this small group tour to northeast Brazil next May. Guided by the legendary Regina Ribeiro, we will search of some very rare mammal species including excellent primates and little known porcupines. The trip – sold by Miru Adventures – is fully confirmed (we have a great group so far) but it would be good to get a couple more people along.
If – like me – you are now thinking about your lifer count for next year then look no further!
Regina and I put this tour together to focus on some of the local and rare endemic mammals from the Atlantic Rainforest. Target species include Northern Maned Sloth, Brazilian Three-banded Armadillo, Bristle-spined, Baturite, Pernambuco and Bahian Hairy Dwarf Porcupines along with primates like Caatinga & Coimbra-Filho’s Titi Monkeys and Blond & Yellow-breasted Capuchins.

We will offer a 5 night post tour extension into the Amazon to look for even more rarities including Spix’s Red-handed Howler, Eastern Black-handed Tamarin, Collins’s Squirrel Monkey, Silvery Marmoset and Black-rumped Agouti.
The 12 night main tour runs from May 27 – June 8 2026, and the extension continues until June 13. The price of the main tour set at $7530 (US).
Full details of the trip, which is being sold by Miru Adventures, is attached.
This will be my 8th trip to Brazil, so I guess it goes without saying that I love the country and its superb mammalwatching. And Regina is a wonderful guide.
Contact me or Miru for more information.
All the best for the New Year!
