RFI Chitwan National Park December 2025
Greetings, I am looking for advice/information on booking a trip to Chitwan National Park in December of this year. We are a group of two and have a specific time frame off from work over the Christmas holiday season. Does anyone have a tour operator to recommend? Or could we make arrangements through a lodge? In 2022 and 2023 I organised park jeep trips and tower stays through the various hotels that I used.
Some notes on costs etc:
Chitwan NP Entry Fees: 2000 NPR for Foreigners – valid for that day only (2023).
Chitwan NP is open from 6 AM to 5:30 PM.
Full day jeep safaris in the NP are run from 7 AM to 5 PM. Our private jeep for a full-day (7 AM – 5 PM) for 2 pax cost $230 (including park entry permits and lunch).
Shared jeep in Chitwan NP for 4 hours excluding park fees is around $20/p.
My overnight stay in Tiger Tower for 1 person was $60 (2022).
My overnight stay in Baghmara Tower for 1 person (2023) was $107. Tiger Tower was better value.
Flew Buddha Airways from Pokhara to Bharatpur at $73 each (2023 Nov).
Flew Buddha Airways from Bharatpur to Kathmandu at $120 each (2023 Nov). -

Hi John, as far as I know, self drive or vehicles not belong to the park are not allowed in Chitwan, so you will go into the park with an official park guide in an official park jeep. All hotels around Chitwan could help you make the same arrangement. You can also contact Nature Safari Tours P. Ltd. https://birdingnepal.com/ , which is the tour operator I used last year. They may know the most experienced park guide, and they will arrange all the logistics for you very well.

Hi, I visited Bardia and Chitwan last year in february. https://www.nepaldynamicecotours.com did a great job!
Walked solo, but with two nice guides (mandatory!) for one week in each park. 5 tiger sightings (Bardia), lots of rhino’s, gaurs, 4 leopards (close, but only heard) in Bardia and lots of other stuff. No time for a trip report yet. Good luck! -
