The start of The Big Cat Year and the quest for the Iberian Lynx!

What a great way to start the Big Cat Year with a visit to Sierra de Andujar, the stronghold for the Iberian Lynx. Around 2000 it was at the brink of extinction with only around 150 individuals left. After hard work by many parties, it rebounced and currently there are around 2500 individuls. Really happy to have 4 sightings of this magnificient wild cat!

Nice start! I have gone to Sierra Andujar and seen lynx in February of each of the last two years and am going again this February. I have never seen fox there, though, so that was a nice addition for you.
