Hawaii

I visited O’ahu for a 4 nights in December 2023.

Hawaiian Monk Seal (Neomonachus schauinslandi)

Ka’ena Point State Park

This seems like the most reliable spot on O’ahu to see Hawaiian Monk Seals. And I saw three when I visited in 2023.

Rough-toothed Dolphin (Steno bredanensis)

Waianae

A six hour boat trip in December 2023 produced my target Rough-toothed Dolphins plus Pantropical Spotted Dolphins.Other nice species that are common or occasional in these waters include Blainville’s Beaked Whales and Pygmy Killer Whales.
