What a great report! Even though I have been living in Poland for 4 years, it never ocurred to me that I can actually ask for a permit to drive forest roads – should have known that earlier 🙂 The border patrols are indeed ubiquitous and never really an issue, as you have experienced yourself, so people don’t really need to worry.
