This report is from a recent trip to Eaglesnest, India, in search of Asiatic golden cat, Leopard cat and Marbled cat sightings.

    Hi Jens,
    A very very late response to your trip report. In your report you write “14 April
    While dring on the main road to Guwahati, we saw several troops of Arunachal Macaque (Macaca
    munzala).” Seeing this rare primate along the main road to Guwahati seems very unusual to me. This species of macaque lives in altitudes of more than 2000 meter and is quite shy. Rhesus Macaques or Assamese macaques are better options when you spot a macaque along the main road to a big city.

      Also I think the Five-striped squirrel is a Himalayan striped squirrel. As the former is associated with drier areas.

      Hoary- bellied squirrel I don´t think is at this altitude at Eaglenest at all. I have been there 10 days and never seen one but tons of Orange-bellied and a few Pallas squirrel.
      Alot of Hoary-bellied in the lowlands in Manas NP etc. though.
