A 30 day trip India as part of The Big Cat Year

As part of The Big Cat Year we made a visit to India, organized together with Vana Safaris. We focused in Northeast India at Kaziranga NP, Manas NP, Kokaijani, Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary, Mandala and Sela Pass. We then flew to Northwest India for Kalaidevi Wildlife Sanctuary, Bera, Desert National Park, Little Rann of Kutch, Velavadar NP, Gir Forest NP and Tadoba NP. Many thanks to Vana Safaris and Nehal Gurung who led the trip!

All in all, we managed to see close to 60 mammal species and around 370 bird species. With regard to the Wild Cat species, we managed to observe Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Lion, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Afro-asiatic Wild Cat and Rusty-spotted Cat.

The tripreport basically includes the journals and pictures as shown in the blogs in chronological order at the website www.mybigcatyear.com .  It is for those who like reading … 🙂  More photo’s and video’s are shown on the website. Thanks again to Mammalwatching.com and all of its contributors for the great infomation and inspiration!
