Mammalwatching Around Salzburg, Austria?
Hi everyone!
I’ll be going with my wife and child on a family (non-mammalwatching) trip to Austria next week, where we’ll spend 5 nights in Salzburg and 1 in Vienna.
Of course I’ll go see the hamsters in Vienna 😉
But regarding Salzburg: I’ll probably have a couple of nights to go spotlighting / thermal scoping on my own after the fam bam goes to sleep.
Does anyone have any tips, for any nearby “remote-ish” or just forested roads where I can look for some cool stuff?
I haven’t seen Chamois, European pine marten, European badger, any of the local dormice, European beaver, least weasel or stoat.
Any tips for somewhere within 30-40 minute drive from the city would be highly appreciated! I hope I can get away for an evening and pick up something cool.
Thanks in advance!
Tomer
