Tomer’s Bolivia Sep2025 Trip Report

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to share this trip report of my trip to Bolivia with great people and great guides!

As always, it’s way too long and detailed, with tangential anecdotes, personal feelings (how I felt when I finally saw a jaguarundi 😜) and account of where and when we saw the mammals we saw, as best as I can without giving too specific locations that would take away from the effort Nick put into finding and establishing ecotourism in these places.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m open to corrections and thoughts, and in general, to be made fun of, for adding TMI to my reports 🤷🏻‍♂️

P.S. This post has only been up for an hour and I already replaced the report twice for better versions with fewer grammatical errors, missing words, and a formatting correction🤦🏻‍♂️

So if you’re opening this directly from the notification e-mail, you get to see the 1st, least corrected version 😜

Thank you for your trip report. Impressed by the amount of jaguars encounters you had. That close up moment must have been some of the best 15 minutes of your life.

    Thank you Flemming!
Yeah, I think overall I had 6 jaguar sightings of I think 5 different animals.
Imagine having 2 encounters like that 2 days in a row, each with a different jaguar, about 100km apart!
It’s pretty crazy, though secretly just between me and you (and everyone else reading this) I would trade one of those for a puma 😜

And it was really special as you said, but dare I say I was EVEN MORE excited about the pantanal cat encounter 🤣

which… for anyone reading this: Nick is updating me daily now on his quest to make Pantanal cat reliable! He’s seen them 2 nights in a row now in a new location in the same general area where we saw it! He’s going to make it a tickable species 🤯🤯🤯
Crazy Nick!! All thanks to the coca leaves🌿🥬🍃😉
