(not the) Weekly Update
Hello! Jon here, stepping in for Katy Hall who is still on holidays. I will not even try to replace her – something I have tried to do regularly since her birth but haven’t managed yet. But I will post a few of the recent, more time critical, posts for those who subscribe only to these weekly updates. Normal sarcastic service will be resumed shortly.
For those wanting to book a trip then check out these adverts:
Ghana with Royle Safaris next March
A trip to look for Bonobos in the DRC, September 2026
A Congo River Basin Cruise + Gabon with Chalo Africa, in July 2026 (also with Bonobos on the menu)
And don’t forget the mammalwatching Antarctic Cruise in January 2027 – it is going to be a lot of fun.
Meanwhile Chad Johnson wants company in South Australia next May for a mammal and diving trip. And ‘Asanoth’ wants help knowing what telephoto lens to take to Madagascar. He or she also want advice on mammalwatching around Barcelona in November.
If you have ever seen a Striped Weasel in Africa then please pay that luck forward and let Kyle know – he is researching them. Also let Charles Foley and me know as we would kill to see one.
Luke Hunter is also chasing mustelids: he will be in the UK in October and if you can point him in the right direction of Polecats, Stoats and Weasels he would be grateful.
That’s it from me. This was more complicated than I realised. Come back soon Katy.
Jon
