5 nights in the Ennnedi Massif produced enough incredible scenery to fill a lifetime plus Rock Hyrax, Cape Hare, Striped Ground Squirrel, Lesser Egyptian Jerboa, Lesser Egyptian Gerbil, Pygmy Gerbil, Nigerian Gerbil, Tarabul’s Gerbil, Olive Baboon, Common Patas Monkey, Desert Hedgehog, Egyptian Mouse-tailed Bat, Arabian Horseshoe Bat, Striped Hyaena, Pale Fox, Rüppel’s Fox and Fennec Fox.

Four nights in this Sahara Conservation Fund reserve produced African Savanna Hare, North African Crested Porcupine, Striped Ground Squirrel, Lesser Egyptian Jerboa, Pleasant Gerbil, Pygmy Gerbil, Nigerian Gerbil, Pouched Gerbil, Heuglin’s Lemniscomys, Caracal, African Wild Cat, Pale Fox, African Golden Wolf, Honey Badger, Dama Gazelle, Dorcas Gazelle, Addax, and Scimitar-horned Oryx. But not the Libyan-striped Polecat I was hoping for,

Spotted Hyenas

Six nights in Zakouma National Park produced African Elephant, Aardvark, African Savanna Hare, North African Crested Porcupine, Striped Ground Squirrel, Gambian Sun Squirrel, Congo Gerbil,, Northern Lesser Galago, Olive Baboon, Common Patas Monkey, Tantalus Monkey, Yellow-winged Bat, Hairy Slit-faced Bat, Large-eared or Egyptian Slit-faced Bat, Midas Mops Bat, Lion, Leopard, 20 Servals (!), Caracal, African Wild Cat, African Civet,, Common Genet, Central African Large-spotted Genet, Spotted Hyaena, Striped Hyena,, White-tailed Mongoose, Slender Mongoose, Marsh Mongoose, Banded Mongoose, Pale Fox, Side-striped Jackal and Honey Badger.

 One of 20 Servals from Zakouma

Along with Common Warthog, African Buffalo, Greater Kudu, Western Bushbuck, Red-fronted Gazelle, Oribi, Bohor Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Kob, Roan Antelope, Hartebeest, Topi, Common Duiker and Giraffe.

We also caught several Johan’s Spiny Mice between Zakouma and N’Djamena.
