I wanted to get advice on getting a thermal imager for upcoming trips. I cannot afford most thermal imagers. I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with the Seek Thermal Imager Pro for the iPhone. If I cannot afford a regular thermal imager, is it worth getting that?

Also, has anyone ever rented out an old thermal imager that they don’t use anymore?

Just trying to think of feasible ways to get one ahead of my upcoming trips.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kelly,

I have one and found it quite useful but only for animals that are quite close, eg in a tree or 10 to 20 metres away. There is also a recent report in the Panama section where one was used to great success: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.mammalwatching.com/wp-content/uploads/Panama-2021-trip.pdf
So overall not for the wide open plains, but in forests very useful.
